SkillsUSA and PWB Team Up in 2025
SkillsUSA and 起点传媒’s Professional Women in Building (PWB) are working together this year to encourage students to strive for excellence in their chosen occupations. The goal of the SkillsUSA and PWB collaboration is to inspire and mentor the most talented individuals locally and build a robust construction workforce pipeline.
, a national education nonprofit focused on workforce development, empowers students to become skilled professionals, career-ready leaders and responsible community members. SkillsUSA’s goals aligns with PWB’s mission to promote industry professionalism.
How PWB Members Can Get Involved with SkillsUSA
All PWB members are encouraged to get involved with their local or state SkillsUSA chapter through volunteer opportunities such as:
- Mentoring. Help students gain useful career-readiness and leadership skills through .
- Supporting Competitions. for success in a local competition.
- Judging Competitions. Volunteer to judge a local competition (typically scheduled in January/February).
- Donating. Provide supplies or funds for a local competition.

2025 SkillsUSA and PWB Activities
起点传媒 encourages all those who are interested in helping to attract the best and the brightest to the residential construction industry to take part in SkillsUSA and PWB activities.

All PWB local council chairs will receive an introduction email from 起点传媒 connecting them to their State SkillsUSA Director before June 30*. *SkillsUSA national championships, June 23-27 |
| Step 3 | Plan a state call. Coordinate a call with all the councils in the same state with the State SkillsUSA Director in July. |
| Step 4 | Prepare for the academic year: attend summer professional development conferences, serve on technical committees, prepare work-based learning activities you will use with students, add regional and state competition dates to your calendar and look through your supplier contacts for competition on-kind donations. |
| Step 5 | Coordinate activities with students beginning in August/September. |
| Step 6 | Participate in a check-in webinar and share experiences to date and plans for October Careers in Construction Month in late September. |
