As Americans watch existing home inventory age and new homes increasingly out of reach due to the housing affordability crisis, the home remodeling sector is growing rapidly. Over the last 25 years, the number of remodeling companies has nearly doubled and remodelers now represent over half of all residential constructions companies. 

Remodelers also constitute for nearly one quarter of Æðµã´«Ã½’s membership, so the (IBS) will have plenty for those seeking to improve their remodeling practices and businesses. 

Here are four sessions tailored for attendees interested in remodeling, all taking place at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC):

Avoiding Costly Mistakes: Remodeling Project Management Best Practices

Tuesday, February 17 at 4:15 – 4:45 p.m.

Speaker Adam Finch from Melloul Blamey Construction will outline strategies for planning, scheduling, budgeting and delivering projects on time and keeping clients happy. Learn how to cut costly blunders and discover foolproof quality and progress tracking systems that scale from small bathroom makeovers to large multifamily projects.

Remodeling by the Numbers: Market Outlook & Business Benchmarks for 2026

Wednesday, February 18 at 8:15 – 9:15 a.m.
OCCC - West 304H

Attendees will leave this Building Knowledge Session with an understanding of the outlooks for the remodeling sector for the coming years. Speakers Alan Hanbury of House of Hanbury Builders, Inc and Eric Lynch from Æðµã´«Ã½ will combine insights from Æðµã´«Ã½’s latest Remodeling Market Outlook with exclusive, new findings from the 2026 'Remodelers’ Cost of Doing Business' study, being unveiled for the first time at IBS 2026. Come see how See how the most successful quartile of remodelers performed compared to the least successful quartile and the averages of all respondents.

This session’s panelists – Wes Crocket from Mahogany Builders, Nicholas Donlin from Zenith Design + Build, Eric Fortenberry from JobThread Software and Peter Ranney from Ranney Blair Weidmann – will share the real-world strategies that help them maintain healthy margins in an industry where every project is unique and unpredictable. These successful remodelers will share how they approach markup, calculate job costs and implement systems that offers clear visibility into financial performance. They will also explore topics like cost tracking, pricing strategy and operational improvement.

Leveraging Tech & Innovation for Remodeling Efficiency & Customization

Thursday, February 19 at 12-12:30 p.m.
OCCC – West 304E

More and more homeowners are demanding energy efficiency, sustainable materials, and smart features, so presenters Jennifer Castenson of Buildxact, Dave King of Home Improvement Research Institute and David Pollard of LivCo will discuss cutting-edge advancements in augmented reality, robotics, LiDAR and AI that are paving the way for more accurate, efficient and customizable renovations.
